Imaginarium and Fire Tech will host Stop Motion Lego Animation Workshops for gifted girls around the theme ‘Sheroes’ with resulting animations to be showcased at Lady Beaufort. The ‘Sheroes’ project highlights stories of female champions of diversity in the world of STEAM …And who better to tell their stories than our next generation of gifted girls.
Workshop participants will research and tell the stories of inspirational women in their lives or the local science/ tech/ engineering industry.
With the mentorship of Fire Tech tutors, the Head of Imaginarium and Tempest Theatre’s Directors, students will produce their own 30-60 second stop-motion animation. These films will be curated and displayed during Fringe World 2019.

Our Animation Workshops for Gifted Girls workshop is built around cool tech that means you can bring your stories to life without ever needing to pick up a pen.
This workshop provides a relaxed and fun environment for young people to explore digitally re-created animation techniques, gain new skills and kick-start their creative journeys.
Suitable for: Girls Age 6 to 17, identified as gifted
Duration: 2 x 3 hours workshops

Time: 1.00pm – 4.00pm

Please note: Students are welcome to bring in their own Lego characters, toys, props, or objects they wish to feature in their stop-motion stories. However, Firetech can take no responsibility for personal items being lost, stolen or damaged. Items must be clearly labelled with child's name.
No prior experience is required but there are some prerequisites for attending this course:
* Outdoor activities dependent on location and weather. ** some software only available as trial. We arrange a discounted rate with the publishers for our campers when possible.
